Another Flower Card



I just can't help it...I love to make flowers! The petals are from an old book, I took a page & put it onto a cricut matt & cut it with our Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge. Once cut, use your inks a sponge and colors that match your pattern paper. This paper is from our"Wonderland" paper pack. Pretty blues & purples.

I'm going to add all the quirky things about me that make up my personality &/or loving attributes or maybe reasons why I annoy those I love! For instance:

   *I do like to be on time...but have rarely been!

   *I Love hot tea but...hate ice tea.

   *My clothing budget is spent on crafts. (Did I just say budget! Haaaa!)

   *I love word games but...can't spell.

   *I'd rather see the sun rise after being up all night than wake up early to watch it! 

   *I brake any vacuum I get my hands on within a year!

Those are just a few of the funny quirks in my personality! Gotta know me ta Love me!

It's a lot of "White Space" (unprinted area of a piece of printing, as in a layout or newspaper page, or of a portion of a piece of printing, as of an advertisement; blank space) for me...don't cha think! I wanted this look but had to view lots of websites to get energized for the simplicity & balance in these eyecatching pages. Sketchabilities is where I found lot of layouts I liked for this style. If your looking to get a lot of pictures on one page this type of layout is not going to work.  For one a two maybe three picture pages it's perfect or should I say "Picture perfect!"

 "Clustering" the butterfly, flower, tag & frame make an ideal shabby chic embellishment. The new Just Blooms flutter" Butterflies are so easy to create in any color you like! Just add ink! Use a sponge, brush, or dauber. Add one or more colors. I love that I can easily coordinate them with my pages. They come in various sizes & prints.

I also included corrugated chipboard (the tag has been edged in blk ink & the bracket was rubbed across vineyardberry ink & painted with pearl paint) The dimensional flower is a cut from our new Cricut Cartridge (That I now could not live without!) & loosely wrapped to keep the bulk down. There is lickerish pearls on the butterfly & a corduroy brad for the flower center.The brads & ribbon are in our Black Mini Medley Collection.

The fluer de lee is also a cut from the Art Philosophy cartridge. I used my label maker for the words & date

Awe...Isn't he cute! Seems like it was just last year he was in Preschool! He started 5th grade & is excited to be in the highest grade in his school. I guess he's "cool" now because he is one of the oldest! Pulling pictures like this out now is one of the reasons that I don't scrapbook conalogically. It's so much fun to pull these older photos out & ooooh & ahhh over them (maybe even cry a little because they are growing up so fast!) He's already asking me about Middle School. Jarred slow down will ya!

  

These "back to school" pages were created with a new paper kit "Typeset" from the Fall/Winter Catalog that was released on August 1. I'm really enjoying this paper pack. It's colors & style will go with any age or boy/girl. Plus as an added bonus there is beautiful generic patterns on the back of these B&T Dous. Wait until you see what I did with them. (Pages to be posted soon!)

 

I've been researching a new technique "clustering" I spent some time scouring the Internet & magazines for ideas. Our new Corrugated chipboard shapes are perfect for this. I'm having sooo much fun with them. There are 48 different shapes & sizes in a package. You can ink them, color them, paint them, stamp on them & more. Plus I love, love, love our new "Typeset Canvas Compliments." You know why??? Because they are not a sticker! They are printed on canvas and have awesome texture! What a great price too, $5.95 for 2 yes that's 2, 6" x 12" sheets.

As some of you know I find it hard to use stickers. I just don't like the texture. When I do use them I sand them, ink them, stamp on them & layer them so they look more like an embellishment & not a sticker. Otherwise they are so "flat" & one dimensional. That's why I so love these "Canvas Shapes!" They add instant detail & color to everything you use them on! Great for pages, cards & altered items. (especially teacher gifts!) Join us on Friday Sept. 23rd for may workshop with this paper pack. We'll be creating 4 layouts & learning new techniques.

Due to Labor Day weekend, Pink Friday & Fallasburg Fall Festival class will be held on Friday Sept. 23^rd at 6:00. This class (only) will be at the Springhill Suites in Cascade (Behind Target on 28^thstreet) 5250 28^th Street, GRR, 49512. Future classes will be held at Lowell Arts Council on South Hudson, by the Fire barn & Mill.

We’ll be creating back to school & everyday moment’s pages at the crop. Close To My Heart Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge

This is my new "Go To" cartridge! I use it all the time with the matching stamp sets. I love that I don't have to cut anything out with scissors anymore!

It's so exciting when we get a new catalog! We wonder what colors will be in the new paper kits. What patterns, will we like them? What new accessories will there be? There is such a build up of enthusiasm before it's release. I'm so thrilled with this seasons catalog! (released August 1) Beautiful color mixes, wonderful new patterns, fun new accessies and an exceptional offering of stamps & crafting supplies to explore and express your creativity. The card below was made with the new "Dreamin" Paper pack. I love the bold varity of colors & prints in this kit.

I sooo cannot leave the new cricut cartridge alone! Just another 3D flower cut from Honey CS, rolled up and petals curled with a "Mocha Pearl" in the center. The frame below is one of the "Milepost Shapes" flipped over & stamped on with a flourish image. I followed the color challenge from CR84FN.

Chic new paper pack!

The "Roxie" Paper Pack is Chic & fun! Check out the flourishes & flowers and make sure to see the black-n-white zebraish (is that really a word?) print.  I predict this trendsetting paper pack will be a best seller!

The floral image is from "The Present" stamp set and the sentiment is from "Unscripted"  

This card design is a template from Clean & Simple Stamping & they have teamed up with CAS-ual Fridays for this sketch.

Isn't the Zebraish (I like my made up word!) print jazzy! Combined with our Smoothie (pink) it looks awesome! The frame, flowers, flourish & border were all cut on the cricut using the CTHM "Art Philosophy" cricut cartridge. To give the flower some zing I added our transparent acrylic pearl paint (create a shade), mixed it with a little water and painted the petals, waited for it to dry & then added a little Glitz Glitter Gel to the edges of the petals & boarder around the sentiment. For the center of the flowers a pearl is perfect! It's from our Opaques Adhesive Gems. This card was fun to make & I love how it turned out!

I Just Love Purple

The rich colors are so lovely in this elegant patterned paper from our new "Sonoma" paper pack. The beautiful tapestry designs and subtle coordinating patterns combined with my favorite colors; Smokey Plum, Amethyst, Pansy Purple & Olive Green complete this paper package. 



OK so I love anything with writing on it! This is just one of the sizes & patterns from our "Just Blooms Flutter Paper Shapes." They come white with several different prints then you just add the ink that cooridnates with your paper pack & you have a breathtaking embellishment. Make it "pop" by adding glitter & rhinestones. 

Did I mention how much I love our new "Art Philosophy" Cricut cartridge! The sentiment frame, 3D flower, leaves & scallop boarder were all cut from my new "go to" Art Philosophy cartridge. It's so easy to make these flowers with our cartridge, just cut it out & roll it up. Fiddle with petals a little & glam it up with glitter & a rhinestone "Ta Da" you have a gorgeous embellishment for your card or altered paper project. 



I played along with "The Sweet Stop" Challenge Sketch Blog when I made this card. I like their sketches, they are clean and balanced.This sketch was a great inspiration for my card.

I remember when my kids used to hug! This paper kit is called "Elemental" It's such a great kit because it will go with everything! Very basic subtle patterns that will work with any theme.

Oh Gosh! Some of you know how much I love Halloween! This new "Mischief" paper pack is awesome! We also have fun new felt designs to go with it! Check out the tree, fence, corner design, black mat behind the bat & chandler on the card. They are wonderful quality & add texture to any layout or card. Make sure to check out the new colored rub-ons for this halloween kit! I can't believe it...we have colored rub-ons!! I love rub-ons & now we have them in color! Yippie!

This is from the new Roxie paper pack! Don't forget that our pattern paper is now Cardstock weight. It also has a zip strip across the top with a design that coordinates with the paper pack & the opposite side names the colors that are in the pack. With a heavy paper cutting it on the cricut will be a breeze!

This picture doesn't show how pretty this "Dreamin" paper pack really is. It has rich fall colors & beautiful designs. I can't wait to work with it. Plus most of leaf images on the stamp set that match are cricut cutable. Can I just tell you again how happy it makes me not to have to get my scissors out!!

I have spent a lot of time dreamin' about the new Cricut cart. images in the last few days! I can not wait to get it. Mr. Fed Ex guy was suppose to come Saturday with my cart. & all the other new goodies from the Fall/winter catty & HE NEVER SHOWED UP! Do you even want to know how many times I checked the front porch to look for my order thinking maybe he forgot to ring the doorbell? Any how... he never showed up & they don't deliver on Sunday or Monday so, now I'm waiting impatiently until tomorrow with hopes that I will see my order. Here's to dreamin' about my new "Art Philosophy" Cricut cartridge.
